Marjorie Ann Grossman

Marjorie Ann Grossman was born November 29, 1940 in Clay Center, Nebraska. She passed away on October 10, 2021 at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, Kansas.

As a young girl, she lived on the family farm near Clay Center, Nebraska where she was baptized December 29, 1940 at the Zion Lutheran Church. Later the family relocated to the farm near Edgar, Nebraska. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Lynn Grossman, on March 29, 1959 in Clay Center at Zion Lutheran Church. She and Lynn attended rival high schools, she went to Edgar High School and Lynn attended Nelson High School.

Marj and Lynn lived in Overland Park, KS for over 20 years, and retired to Laurie, Missouri in 1993. She she was an active member of Kent Lutheran Church and Atonement Lutheran Church. She loved to sew and could make anything requiring fabric and thread. She was also an avid reader. A few of her favorite authors were James Michener, James Herriot and Fanny Flagg. She often read to her children, especially on family road trips.

Marj is survived by her children Kenneth L Grossman II (Robin) of Northlake, Texas, Dudley D Grossman (Laura) of Olathe, Kansas, Rebecca A Parker (Ralph) of Garnett, Kansas; her grandchildren Ryan Parker (Darcie) of Olathe, Kansas, Jimmy Grossman of Olathe, Kansas, Steve Grossman of Austin, Texas, Morgan Parker (Jake) of Ottawa, Kansas, Madison Cearly (Davis) of Dallas, Texas, Lindsey Grossman of Olathe, Kansas; her great-grandchildren Lyla Parker, Brie Parker, Henry Grossman and Eloise Cearly, and her sister, Mary Lou Ochsner (Gerald).

Marj was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Verna Lobeda and husband, Kenneth Lynn Grossman.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Edgar Cemetery in Edgar, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warrior Project.
