Marjorie L. Bornholdt, age 92, died on May 8, 2009 in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on February 7, 1917, in Greensburg, Kansas, and spent most of her youth in Augusta, Kansas. Marjorie received her R.N. at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and studied psychiatric nursing at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She went on to teach psychiatric nursing at Topeka State Hospital, and worked as a coordinator with the Topeka-Shawnee County Health Department before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora Schulz and George Schulz, and her husband, John L. Bornholdt. Marjorie is survived by her son, Thomas H. Bornholdt, of Olathe, Kansas; her daughter, Joan L. Edwards of Park City, Utah and New York, New York. She leaves grandchildren Margaret Bornholdt of Lawrence, Kansas; Amanda Edwards of New York, New York, Mitchel Wilson-Brown of Lenexa, Kansas; Stephanie Brown, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Sarah Knudsen, of Olathe, Kansas, as well as several great-granchildren.
