MARILEA FRANCES SCHLEICHER MARTINEZ

Marilea was born on February 15, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Leo and Mary Schleicher. She attended St. Agnes Catholic School, and was a graduate of Bishop Miege High School. Marilea continued to be a faithful supporter of the schools throughout her lifetime.

On January 6, 1973 she was married to Richard Martinez, and in 1978 they moved their family to the Olathe Area. She was employed with the Social Security Administration for thirty years, until her retirement. Marilea was devoted to her Catholic faith , along with her husband Richard, was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe.

In her leisure, she enjoyed sporting events, fishing, spending time with her family, and her dogs, Meyer and Speklz.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of the home, daughter Angela Martinez, Olathe, son Daniel Martinez,of the home, her brothers Leo Schleicher of Fremont, NE, John Schleicher of Roeland Park, KS, and Paul Schleicher of Overland Park, KS, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
