Marian Grandle O'Connell
Marian Grandle O'Connell passed away at her home in Olathe, Kansas on June 2, 2006. She was 48. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS on Friday, June 16 at 2:00p.m. The family suggests donations be sent to Friends of Johnson County, 6000 Lamar, Suite 130, Mission, KS 66202, or to your favorite charity.
Born March 6, 1958 in Wichita, KS, Marian graduated from Sammamish High School in Bellevue, WA and was an alumna of the University of Kansas School of Journalism. She worked twenty years at The Boeing Company in Wichita, KS. Most recently Marian was employed by SI International in Lee's Summit, MO.
Marian is survived by her son Michael and daughters Jessica and Mary, of Olathe, KS; mother Mary Grandle and sister and brother-in-law Pat and Joe Cantu, of Bellevue, WA. Her father, Harvey Marion Grandle III, passed away July 28, 2005. She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Marian was a very creative and talented individual; her numerous intricate counted cross-stitch pieces are treasured by her family and friends. She loved animals, music, and reading and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Marian was a loving mother and truly cherished her three wonderful children.
