Margaret P. Wilson, 99, of Olathe, died November 7, 2005, at Olathe Good Samaritan Center, Olathe. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2005 at College Church of the Nazarene, Garrett Chapel, Olathe. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Chapel, Olathe.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Newman Grove, Madison County, Nebraska, July 12, 1906. At the age of 12 she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where she spent most of her life. On February 1, 1928, she married Harry F. Wilson. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to five children born of this union. At retirement, she and her husband moved to Tecumseh, Oklahoma, to be near their son, Robert. In later years, she moved with her husband to Olathe, to be near two of her daughters.
Mrs. Wilson was a dressmaker much of her life. She did alterations in her home for many years, and then made doll clothes for Terri Lee Doll Company. Following that, she spent 25 years in the alteration department of Gold & Company department store in Lincoln, Neb. She was a long-standing member of the Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School until she was nearly 80 years of age.
Her parents, Fred W. Patzel, Sr. and Emma R. Patzel; her husband of 70 years, Harry F. Wilson; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Maynard Holstad; three sisters, Irene Robinson, Lillie Reeves, Emmaline Gibbs; a brother, Rev. Fred Patzel, Jr.; her stepmother, Lucille (Patzel) Funk; a half-sister, June Rost; and two half-brothers, Edward Patzel and Robert Patzel; preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Wanda Wilson of Yukon, Okla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and David Baty, Jennie and Dan Vanderpool, all of Olathe and Jessie Sullivan of Playa del Rey, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; half-sister, Jean Steen; two half-brothers, Richard Patzel and Donald Patzel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Olathe Good Samaritan Center or College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe.
