Margaret Sue (Dollard) D'Armond, 84, died September 24, 2014 at Sunrise of Leawood Senior Living, in Leawood, KS. She was born on December 29, 1929 in Claremore, OK, the daughter of Charlie and Violet (Kirkley) Dollard.
A valedictorian graduate of Claremore High School, she married Ray Lee D'Armond in Collinsville, OK in 1949 and they had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Sue and Ray settled in Lawrence, KS to raise their family, where she was an Office Manager for Lawrence Paper Company from 1965 until retiring in 1995. After retirement, she and Ray moved to Cherokee Village, AR, where they lived until this year.
Sue is survived by her husband Ray: daughter Joyce Neves and husband Mark of Olathe; son Ray, Jr. of Lawrence; two sisters, Betty Kimball and husband George of Overland Park, KS and Mary Lou Starkey and husband Lloyd of Claremore, and a brother Jimmie Dollard and wife Arrie of Evergreen, CO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara and a brother Bud Dollard (wife Susie).
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel.
