Margaret Joline (Shoemaker) Baetz (age 92), daughter of Frank W. and Laura (Hudson) Shoemaker, was born Nov. 13, 1932 at Narka, Kansas and went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2025.
Margaret grew up on the family farm, two miles south of Narka, Kansas. She attended the Albion Elementary School for two years, then transferred to the Narka school system. She graduated from Narka High School in 1950. She was involved in 4-H, church and school activities.
Her first year of college she enrolled at Park College, Parkville, Mo. Her next year, she attended Kansas State University, where she graduated in 1954, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics and Secondary Education. She taught Home Economics at Clyde High School, Clyde, Ks. for two years until 1956.
Margaret was united in marriage to Robert Lee Baetz, June 13, 1955. They had three daughters, Cindy, Cherie, and Candice. She returned to teaching in l964, where she taught Home Economics at Salina Central High School and Salina South Middle School. Then, she earned her Master's Degree in Secondary Education in 1987 from K-State. She retired in 1992 after 32 years of full-time teaching. She continued to do substitute teaching.
In 1998, Margaret & Bob moved to Branson, Mo. Margaret was active in the church, teaching Sunday School, helping with AWANA’s and was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary. Margaret moved to Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, Ks. in October 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob of 49 years, daughter & son-in –law, Candice and Jonathan Adcock.
She is survived by her children, Cindy & Rowley Tedlock, Shawnee, Ks., Dr. Cherie & Geoff Davis, St. Louis, Mo., grandchildren, Dr. Ashleigh & Sam Bergsohn, Goshen, New York, Angela &Travis Stoll, Lenexa, Ks., Evan Tedlock, Kansas City, Mo., Wesley & Alena Tedlock, Ottawa, Ks., Shelby Adcock, Shawnee, Ks., and Briahna & Caleb Snyder, Springfield, Mo., Five great grandchildren, Alex , Sophie and Andrew Bergsohn, Goshen, New York, and Riley & Carter Stoll of Lenexa, Ks. and many nieces, nephews & friends.
Memorial services to be held at Cedar Lake Village Worship Center, 15325 S. Lone Elm Rd., Olathe, KS 66061 on April 12, 2025 with visitation at 11:30 and services at 12:00.
