Margaret Anne Mckaig

April 29, 1948 — March 12, 2024

Margaret Anne "Peggy" McKaig, 75, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. She was born on April 29, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts to Robert and Clara (Smith) Sinclair.

Peggy was born in South Boston, MA and grew up in Dedham, MA with her 5 siblings. She graduated from Dedham High School and attended Boston State for a semester, where she met her first husband, Alan Marston. Together, they had two sons, Alan Jr. and Ian. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1976. Peggy was active in the community theater, enjoyed dancing, and was known to frequent the local roller skating rink. She worked at a local printing company before moving into restaurant management.

Peggy remarried in 1980 to Ronald McKaig. Eventually, they relocated to Wagoner, OK, where Ron was the manager of Walmart. Peggy became a Deputy Tax Assessor for Wagoner County, where she served until she retired.

Peggy moved to Johnson County, KS to be closer to her son Alan. Peggy worked as a greeter and cashier at Walmart, where she made many friends and tried to brighten the day of everyone who came through those doors.

Peggy is survived by her son, Alan Marston Jr., her sister Paula Obuchon, Brother Al Sinclair, and Granddaughters Erin Marston and Kayli Marston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald McKaig, and her son Ian Marston.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Margaret's memory be made to any local animal shelter because of her love for dogs.
