MARC C. LARSON
Marc C. Larson, 55, of Overland Park passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 am at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 Blackbob Road, Olathe, Kansas. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe.
Marc was born August 17, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas to Christine Ruby and Clayton Clifford Larson. Marc attended Shawnee Mission West and graduated from the University of Kansas. He worked for the G. W. Van Keppel Company in Kansas City for 23 years starting as a staff accountant and then served as secretary treasurer and was on the board of directors. After leaving G. W. Van Keppel, Marc was employed at Sprint as a finance manager. He was a loyal KU Jayhawk fan, a strong patriarch of the family and was passionate about vacations in Cabo San Lucas that brought the family together. His other passion was golf. He treasured and established many traditions for his step-children and step-grandchildren. He loved his role as Grandpa/Peapaw. Survivors include his spouse, Nancy, three step-daughters, Michelle Campbell and husband Jim, Melanie Rodriguez, Alicia Weber and husband Mike, two brothers, Van Larson, Sacramento, CA , Scott Larson and wife Susan of Anacortes, WA and a sister, Laurie Carlson and her husband Mark, Overland Park, nine step-grandchildren, James, Nina, Amber, Alea, Angel, John, Bailey, Chloe and Fynn, two step great-grandchildren, Naiveah and Laila and two nieces, Nicole and Jordan Carlson. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kansas City Hospice House in Marc's honor.
