Magnolia Jean Harris was born January 29, 1937, to Julius Alfred and Elizabeth Carnation Banks. She was the second of four daughters - Naomi June Williamson, Shirley June Banks and the eldest sister Lillian Jean Thomas who preceded her in death.
A Kanas City, Kansas, native, Magnolia began her career quest as an electronics assembler at Western Electric. She retired from Inland Cold Storage as a computer programmer in 1984.
Magnolia was baptized in 1974 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a member of the Chelsea Heights congregation for 29 years and the Indian Creek congregation from 2003 until her passing. She enjoyed preaching and teaching others about Jehovah God and his will and purposes for mankind. She loved cooking, fishing and imparting sayings of wisdom, facts and fiction that showcased her diverse personality.
Magnolia leaves to cherish her memories of her husband of 31 years, James Enon Harris, two children, Michael A. Garlington, Karen M. Madison and her eldest son, Larry W. Davis, who preceded her in death along with five grandchildren - Tabitha Davis, Noah Davis, Moriah Davis, Nicole Garlington and Miranda Madison and three great grandchildren - Aurora Dewberry, Carter Dewberry and Micael Garlington and a host of family and friends.
