Macon Wales Sloan, 73, of Olathe, KS, passed away at home with family by her side on June 7th.
She was born to the late Col. John E. Wales III and Frances Macon Wales, Nov. 14th 1942, in Norfolk, VA. She attended Kansas State University. She married George Cameron Sloan on June 9th 1962.
Macon enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially visiting her sister in Cape Cod and vacationing in Florida with family and friends.
Macon is survived by her husband, George, of 54 years, and two children, Terrilyn Sloan Gratwick, and Todd Cameron Sloan and spouses, Tom Cain and Mary Beth Sloan. She also is survived by her three grandchildren, Ashley Lynn and Tyler Mitchell Gratwick, and Maxwell Rohlf and also her sister, Rebecca Andersen and spouse, Peter Andersen of Boston, MA.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11th at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224 in the Wesley Chapel.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am, memorial service at 11:00am, and a reception immediately following at the church.
The family suggests donations to the Greater Kansas City Hospice.
