Lynne Zelez, 85, of Overland Park, KS passed away on June 13, 2024 after a brief illness.
She was born in February 1939 in Danville, PA to Vincent and Kathryn McHail. She was a 1957 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School and a 1961 graduate of Bloomsburg University. In March 1962, Lynne married her best friend and soulmate, Gordon Zelez and became a military wife and stay-at-home mother. In 2018, Lynne and Gordon settled in Overland Park, Kansas.
In her free time, Lynne enjoyed reading, listening to music, singing, traveling, playing the piano and spending time with her family and her cats. Lynne especially enjoyed watching her grandson grow and she was quite proud of his accomplishments playing the piano. Lynne was also a life long member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Carmel, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, COL Gordon Zelez, USA (Ret), Lynne's memory will be honored and cherished by her surviving family. Her daughter Ginny Wells, son-in-law Chris Wells, grandson Zander Wells and her beloved cat, Archie, will deeply miss her and the immense love and joy she brought to their lives.
Lynne will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Leavenworth National Cemetery following a private ceremony.
