Lura J. Baker

Lura J. Baker, 82, passed away on March 26, 2016 at Evergreen Community in Olathe, KS. Lura was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and Olathe since a young girl. She started her career as a department store clerk and model for the store. She then went to cosmetology school and was a hairdresser until she retired. She spent a lot of time at the Lake of the Ozarks with her husband George and closest friends and family. She enjoyed napping, fishing, traveling and spending time with her many friends and family.


Lura is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George F. Baker, and survived by her only daughter, April Thorpe (Jeff), three granddaughters, one grandson, two great grandsons, one sister Betty, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
