Lucy Francis Mcgee

Lucy Francis McGee passed away August 24, 2021 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on April 8, 1943 to Parker B. Francis III and Maude Peek Francis. She was a graduate of Sunset Hill High School and Smith College. Lucy married George Bassos of Hartford Ct and lived in West Hartford, Ct raising their three daughters, Kim, Laura, and Wendy. After their marriage ended in 1991 she moved back to the Kansas City area. An old relationship was rekindled with Burr McGee and they were married in 1999. Lucy's vivacious personality attracted many friends during her years in Connecticut and Kansas City.
She is survived by sister Mary Parker Woods (Dick), brothers Poppy Francis, Richard Francis (Edye), daughters Kim Hull (Pete) and Wendy Rhoten (Mark) fourteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter and her husband Burr. She is also survived by many cousins and friends across the United States.
Lucy's light shown brightly and her love of life was contagious. She was full of wonder, loved birds and flowers, her spirit will be with all of us forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.
