Luanne Helen Mowers

Age 76, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2006. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. Interment, Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 E. Sheridan, Olathe, KS 66062.

Luanne was born on February 6, 1930 in Menomonie, WI to Walter and Rose Grutt. After graduating from Menomonie High School, she married Gilbert Mowers in May 7, 1949. She served alongside her husband in the ministry for twenty years in Wisconsin and Minnesota. They eventually settled in the Olathe, Kansas area in 1984 where she was employed at the Wal-mart store until 1996. She was a faithful member of the College Church of the Nazarene for over twenty years.

She is survived by her husband, Gilbert, her daughter Deborah Childress and her husband, Kenneth, of Fresno, CA, her daughter Kristina Cooper and her husband Rodger of Olathe, KS, and her son Daniel Mowers and his companion Anna Mittlestadt of Kimberling City, MO, three grandsons Steven, Mathew, and Paul, and two great-grandsons Tyler and Scott Ryan. She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Vasey of Menomonie, WI. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Scott David Childress, her brother Delvin Grutt and sister Lucille Beaugrand.
