LOUISE BELLE YOUNG
Age 91, passed into the presence of her Lord at the Olathe Good Samaritan Center on June 2, 2007. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m, also at the funeral home. Interment, Pleasant Valley Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances to the Olathe Medical Center Hospice, 20333 W 151st, Doctor's Bldg. #2, Suite 301, Olathe, KS 66061, or to the Stanley Bible Church, 14800 Metcalf Overland Park, KS 66223.
Louise was born on April 18, 1916 in Kenneth, KS, daughter of George W. and Betty F. Knoche. She lived in the Stanley area all of her life. She was raised on her family farm at 130th and Nall, and attended the Oxford School at 135th and Mission Rd.. She graduated from Stanley High School in 1934.
She married Buford Young in 1934, which resulted in a union of 66 years of marriage when Buford passed away in 2001. She lived with Buford on the Young family farm all of her adult life.
She was a member of the Stanley Bible Church, (formerly the Community Church of Stanley), all of her life and served the church in many ways, including serving on the Altar Committee, teaching Sunday school, Women's Fellowship, and cleaning the church. She was always happy to participate in the activities of the church whenever the doors were open.
Louise organized the Stanley Buccaneers 4-H Club, and served as a leader for many years. She was also active in the Royal Neighbors.
She leaves two sons, Ed Young and his wife Shirley of Overland Park, and LeRoy Young and his wife Nancy of Olathe. She also leaves five grandchildren., Karen Martley and husband Tim, Tracy Hadel and husband John, and Mike Young, (children of Ed Young), and Ron Young and his wife Tammy , Sherrill Quick and husband Rich, (children of LeRoy Young), seven great-grandchildren; T.J. Martley, Jospeh Hadel, Angela Hadel, Edward Hadel, Jake Young , Katie Young and Quade Quick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters, and a great-grand-daughter, Elizabeth Hadel.
She will indeed be missed by all of us.
