Louise F. Andrews, the wife of John Andrews, passed away on September 24, 2021, surrounded by her family and friends. After a battle with kidney and bone cancer, she was 76 years old at the time of her death.
Louise Furgurson Andrews was born on April 20, 1945, in Greensboro, North Carolina, and spent most of her life as wife and mother. She received her Associates degree in secretarial sciences, from East Carolina University of North Carolina. Both, John, and Louise Andrews, were members of Legacy Christian Church in Overland Park, Kansas.
In 2021, after she was diagnosed with kidney and bone cancer, Louise spent her days at home in Olathe, cared for and provided by her husband, son, and friends. Little John (her oldest son) visited with his mother regularly. Her youngest son, Stephen Andrews, passed away in 2015 from a heart attack.
These are the thoughts from her son, Little John:
Unless you knew my mom before the illness you really can't understand how sad this really is.
My mom was the strongest woman I've ever met. She wasn't afraid of anyone or anything when her family was concerned. Every room has her touch, you can see the home she crafted and built in the smallest of details.
Until her health condition made it impossible, Louise was active in day-to-day care for her husband and family. No one was allowed to touch anything, except the coffee pot, in her kitchen and the washer and dryer were off limits to everybody else. She cared deeply for those who depended on her. Thanksgiving and Christmas were occasions where she would spend days preparing the meals and arranging the home, perfectly, year after year. Decorations magically appeared and then were put away with a magic that made her home a place of comfort and love.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Penwell Gabel Funeral home in Olathe, Kansas.
Louise will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
