Lorna M. Hedrick, 81, of Olathe, KS passed away March 27, 2009 surrounded by the love of her family. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Tuesday March 31 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Olathe, KS. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe, KS. Burial will be 10 AM Wed. at Cedar Grove Cemetery Hays addition in Salem, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League or a church of your choice.
Lorna was born March 24, 1928 on a farm near Evansville, IL to Martin D. and Hulda S.(Salger) Wegener. She graduated from Chester High School, in Chester, IL in 1946 before going on to St. Louis Business School. She was a medical stenographer, before having children and devoting her life to her family. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Sunflower Knitting Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a sister Evelyn Wegener.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Franklin J. Hedrick of the home. 1 Daughter Evelyn (Kenneth) Stremmel, 6 Sons Franklin D. (Sandra), M. Paul, Samuel J. (Lisa), Philip N., Stephen J., and Karl A. (Heather) Hedrick. And Gods precious gifts of 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 1 sister Sandra D. (Riley) Voss, 2 brothers Martin D. (Earlene) and Delano P. (Esther) Wegener, and 1 sister in law MaryAnn (Guebert) Wegener. She had dear nieces and nephews, cherished cousins, and many loving friends.
