Lloyd Trackwell

Lloyd Jesse Trackwell, 89, born to Frank and Emma Trackwell on July 30, 1919 in Jarblo, KS. Lloyd completed his work and stepped through the veil, into the arms of his Savior to his rest and reward on January 23, 2009 , surrounded by his family at Aberdeen Village in Olathe, KS.

Lloyd married the love of his life, Marie Lusher, on February 11, 1939. They set off on a journey of nearly 70 years together. Through the hard times and the good times they walked hand in hand, never once doubting that they were meant for each other. They raised four children; Lloyd R. (Judith) Trackwell, Dorothina (Ronald) Lape, Cindy (Terry) Merrill, and Sheree Trackwell. His four grandchildrn, Lloyd R. Trackwell, Jr., Judith (Dan) Wulf, Melissa (David) Karlson, and Troy (Patti) Lape, and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brooke Lape, are a testament to the standard he set. A more perfect example of a father, grandfather, and great grandfather could not be asked for.

Together with his brother Leo, they built L & L Service in Tonganoxie, KS. He helped run the station while being a full time feedlot operator in Lee's Summit, Mo. In 1959, Lloyd moved his family to Lexington, Nebraska, where he accepted a partnership with Burns and Skinner Cattle Ranch. In 1966, Lloyd and Marie moved back to the Kansas City area, and started Lloyd's Transport, Inc. They were successful and the business expanded. While living in Prairie Village, KS, they built their dream house in Olathe, where they lived for nearly 40 years. In the spring of 2002, they moved into Aberdeen Village.

Lloyd was a member of College Church of the Nazarene, joining the church in 1969. Lloyd loved driving trucks, and began driving at the age of 15 and continued until 2000 when he had a stroke. His love of horses began as a child and never diminished. Over the years he was privileged to care for many quarter horses; his favorite was his beloved Tennessee Walker "Lady" His hobbies included boating with family and friends, and traveling. His trips included several trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Alaska. He was a season ticket holder for the Royals for many years. He especially enjoyed watching them take the World Series in 1985.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and his brother. Many relatives and friends were waiting to welcome him home.

He is survived hy his wife, Marie, his four children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. While Lloyd will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched and leaves behind, we do not wish him back. He is now freed from the prison that held him after his stroke. He was transformed in an instant into a healthy, happy, strong man we all remember...transformed in an instant.
