Lloyd Wayne Mccarley

December 30, 1961 — May 15, 2022

Lloyd Wayne McCarley, 60, of Olathe, KS was called to Heaven while surrounded by family and friends on the morning of May 15th, 2022. Wayne was born on December 30th, 1961 at the McConnell Air Force base in Wichita, KS. He graduated from Berean Christian School in Olathe, KS and attended Grace University in Omaha, NE.

Wayne followed his lifetime passion of cooking starting at the age of 5 in the family restaurant, McCarley's/Mom's Kitchen and most recently at Todd's Diner in Edgerton, KS. His love for cooking was so present in the taste of his food that as soon as patrons tried his home cooked biscuits and gravy, they followed him wherever he went.

His kindness and generosity was evident by all those who had the pleasure of meeting him. His mother always said he had a "servant's heart" and his giving nature was part of who he was. He enjoyed traveling across the country for softball tournaments, spending time at his home away from home in Branson, MO, taking the RV out with family when the kids were little, and going on trips with his lifelong best friend, Bob Martinez.

Together with his soulmate, Donna, he enjoyed traveling, going to the park with her grandson, Jourdin, and going to concerts together. He expressed how thankful he was for her and their 14 wonderful years together. He also enjoyed taking his grandson, Hayden, to the movie theater and swimming. His family meant everything to him and he never missed an opportunity to include them in the hobbies that brought him joy. He was also a lifelong supporter of his hometown teams - the Royals, Chiefs, and KU Jayhawks.

Wayne is survived by his parents Lloyd and Arlene McCarley of Olathe, KS; 2 brothers, George (Norma) and Chris McCarley; his daughter Whitney Deaver (Kristopher); his long time partner Donna Lucas; and his former spouse Kathy Bjorgo, along with her daughter Natalie Ritter and grandson Hayden Sims.

Following his wishes to be cremated, there will be a memorial service scheduled for Sunday, May 22nd, 2022 at 2:30 PM at College Church of the Nazarene, Garrett Chapel,2020 E. Sheridan, Olathe, KS, 66062, with a visitation beginning at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Olathe Hospice House,15310 S Marion St., Olathe, KS, 66061 for their exceptional care and dedication.
