Length of the Adventure - Dec. 10, 1960 - Mar. 11, 2017
Lisa "Sweetie" Sturgis is a slice of perfection. The present tense is required because once she's in your heart, she will always be there. She loves her children Alex (Erglow), John (John B Willikers) and Allison (Poohville), more than anything in the universe because they are gloriously, perfectly themselves. She passionately and forever loves her handsome husband of 32 years, Chris; because he is the best friend and partner any woman would want and has a beautiful smile and intense brown eyes. She leaves her children and husband as one form to join them in another as pure love.
Ever since she was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Lisa has been an active fun loving women an avid student of life with a great love of people. She attended Central Catholic High School in Allentown, and went on to attend Wilma Boyd Career School in Moon Township PA.
Lisa decided to pursue a career in the Travel industry. She had partnerships with Braniff, PassPort Travel and Short Travel Management. Working in the travel business allowed Lisa to see the world. To name a few wondrous trips she enjoyed over the years Italy, London, Germany, Tokyo, Hawaii, Cancun and many others. She is still learning and exploring, as there is so much to learn and so much more to experience.
Lisa was recently inspired to paint, as she processes the world visually, and to read, as that was a past time that made easy to travel within the pages of the book she was consuming. She marvels at the richness, complexity, completeness, and sheer amazement of the written word. She has a passion for the art of cooking and baking a hobby her family and friends benefited from over the years, even when Alex and John were overseas while serving our country in the U.S. Navy. Lisa's closest bosom buddies-Kim, Krystal, Pam and Susan 1&2 each so insightful, present, festive, and loving, are daily gifts and splendid fellow travelers along her journey. She is amused and not at all surprised that she never has to say to her husband, "You're not fun anymore." Lisa's eyes light up with a bursting heart watching her children merely walk down the street, excel at their careers, sports, sleep, laugh, talk, read, sing, and breathe. They are true wonders and gifts from God.
Gratitude encompasses Lisa. She feels positively grateful for her lucky, happy life; for her adored and astonishing children and husband; for the numerous dearest, funniest, most generous friends possible; for her parents Jack and Elaine who have gone home to be with the lord, for her siblings Jackie and Debbie; for her nieces Kayla, Rachel, Sara and Heather and nephews Kyle, Austin, Eric, Clifford and Clayton they make her life just so much sweeter.
This is what she knows: that when you least feel like it, do something for someone else; that learning requires a willingness to be bad at something for a while, and that is okay; that, as the poet Anne Bradstreet stated," if we had no winter, spring would not be so pleasant; that love must be outwardly shared and compassion acted upon; that people who deeply listen and closely observe radiate light from within and access their empathy".
Those wishing to make a contribution to the world on Lisa's behalf can make donations to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation at https://tnbcfoundation.org .
In lieu of sorrow, express your love. Smile when the people you cherish enter a room. Let them see your eyes light up every time that happens.
