Parents-in-law Richard and Marilyn Hoisington of Spring Hill, KS, and many other extended family members who were a great part of her life.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Alexandra Hoisington and grandparents Frank and Kitty Funck.

Friends and family were of utmost importance to Lisa throughout her life. She was especially dear to her sisters, Lara and Sarah, maternal grandparents in Long Beach, and her father's sisters, Geniece and Claire.

Lisa was born in San Francisco and moved to Long Beach, California at a year old. She lived on Hackett Street for 12 years of her childhood, until 7th grade. The neighborhood was filled with children. The kids swam at the neighbor's pool, played games and had neighborhood picnics. Lisa had many happy memories there and she made friends for a lifetime.

In 1975, she moved with her parents to Emporia, KS. Lisa played the cello with the orchestra and a quartet with some of her closest friends, participated in chorale, performed on the drill team, was a member of the swim team and had a close group of friends through each of her activities. She was a graduate of Emporia High School in 1981.

After graduation, she went to Kansas State University, where she worked at Fast Eddy's and Kite's. Sophomore year, Lisa's good friend, Janice, introduced her to Bruce. Sparks flew, and the rest is history. She frequented Valentino's, where Bruce worked, and loved to go and watch Bruce play the drums in his band at various locations in Aggieville.

After graduation, Lisa and Bruce moved to California where they lived for 10 years and reconnected with her best friend from grade school, Kelli. The couple made many new friends, and had wonderful times near Kitty and Frank, where Lisa was a kindergarten teacher and Bruce, a bank manager. Danielle & Derek were born in California; the family spent fun times on the bluff, near the beach and with their great grandparents.

In 1996, Lisa and Bruce moved back to the Kansas City area to be near family. There, they joined Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Lisa became very involved with the church through the babysitting co-op. She also taught first grade for 12 years at POP school and Ethan was born in 2003.

Lisa lived a life of love, happiness and unsurpassed energy. She had many interests, including music, travel, friend and family time, visiting cozy coffee shops and doing various crafts. She had a love for the ocean, concerts, disco music, dancing and anything to do with a party. She was dedicated to her children, taking them to countless practices, concerts, games and programs. She loved spending time with her beloved friends though the church, as well as her husband, sisters and parents. She was loved and cherished by family and friends; all will miss her generous ways, infectious spirit and boundless energy.

A Mass for Lisa will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:30 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. On Tuesday evening there will be a rosary from 5:30-6 p.m. and a visitation open to everyone from 6-8 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 West 143rd Street, Olathe, KS.
