Linda (Lindy) A. Youse of Overland Park, KS entered glory on September 27, 2017. The Celebration of Her Life will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM at Olathe Bible Church. Lunch reception to follow after the service.
Linda Ann Youse was born on December 28, 1941 in Greenleaf, KS to Major and Agnes Scott. Lindy's family lived on a farm near Greenleaf where they farmed and later her father became Sheriff. Before his retirement, Major was a Probate Judge and Juvenile Judge. Lindy attended her elementary and middle school education in Greenleaf. Lindy's high school education was completed in Washington, KS. She was a cheerleader in both her junior and senior years, graduating in 1959. Lindy worked a year in Wichita, KS to save money for college. She was awarded a scholastic scholarship to Kansas State University. Lindy graduated in 1964 with a degree in Secondary Education and a minor in English.
She married Larry Youse on September 7, 1962 while they were both juniors at Kansas State. After moving several times throughout their marriage, Lindy became a travel agent. She had a wonderful career of 20 years in the travel industry. This gave her an opportunity to visit numerous places throughout the world. After Lindy and Larry retired, they continued traveling to many interesting places.
Lindy took great pleasure in both her family and church. In 1980, she experienced what it means to have a "personal relationship" with Christ. She always said she couldn't wait to meet Jesus at the gates of Heaven.
Lindy was preceded in death by her father, Major Scott, her mother Agnes Scott, sister Amanda Botham, brother Jack Scott and sister Eleanor Scott. Surviving Lindy are her husband Larry Youse, daughter Kristy Youse, daughter Kathy Schmidt (Mark), grandsons Carson and Cooper Schmidt.
