Linda Faye (Nighswonger) Thomas

Linda Faye (Nighswonger) Thomas, 80, of Olathe, KS, passed away on July 25th, 2021 from complications of Alzheimer's.
Linda Was born on May 15th, 1941, to Jesse and Delphia Nighswonger in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent her young childhood with her parents and 4 siblings on a farm in Hamilton, Missouri. Eventually, they moved to Kansas City, and she graduated from Westport High School. She used her skills of shorthand, typing, and great grammar to become a secretary for many companies over the years.
In December 1959, her childhood sweetheart, David Thomas, proposed and on June 3rd, of 1960, they were married. Throughout the 61 years of marriage, they had 2 children, a foster son, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Linda was passionate about having fun in life. She loved to water ski, play volleyball, and play any game that she was challenged to. She was selfless with her love for family, friends, and those in need. Linda was a lifetime believer of the Lord Jesus Christ and attended the Church of Christ in every place they lived.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Delphia Nighswonger; her brothers, Arthur Nighswonger and Jesse Nighswonger Jr; sister, Mary Frazier; son, Brent Thomas; and foster son, Hap Terrell.
She leaves behind her husband, David Thomas; daughter, Cyndi (Mark) Franz; daughter-in-law Karen Thomas; grandchildren, Tara (Ryan) Wilcox, Thomas Franz, Zach Thomas, Kayleigh Thomas, Hap Jr. Terrell; great-grandchildren Josie Grace Wilcox; and one sister, Jean Normon.
