Leta Lorenzen, 55 of Olathe passed away after a three year battle with ovarian cancer on January 8th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 27, 1960 to Bill and Faye Judd in St. Louis, MO. She attended University of Missouri-Rolla where she played softball and met her husband Kurt. She graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla in 1983 with a BS in civil engineering. That same year Leta married Kurt Lorenzen in St. Louis, MO. They relocated to Olathe, KS where they raised three wonderful children together. She worked as a civil engineer for Butler Construction for seven years. Following the birth of her third child she pursued a career in group fitness that allowed her to follow her passion while also being able to care for her three children. As a fitness instructor she inspired many people to change their lives and live a healthier life style. She made fitness fun for everyone that had the pleasure to meet her. Her positive attitude and beautiful soul have had a lasting impact on many people.
Leta is survived by her husband Kurt and their three children Samantha, Daniel, and Jacob. She is also survived by her two parents Bill and Faye Judd and her two brothers Bill and Joe Judd.
The family will receive friends for a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Thursday January 14th, 2016 at Heartland Community Church 12175 S Strangline Rd. Olathe, KS.
