Leslie (Les) C. Longberg, 72, passed away unexpectedly April 2, 2019 at his home in Kansas City. He was born June 21, 1946, to Harry and Parthena (Watson) Longberg.
He graduated from Belleville High School in 1964, and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Kansas State University in 1968. In 1973, earned his M.S. in marketing from the University of West Florida.
Les served as a U.S. Air Force officer from 1968 – 1972. Throughout his career he worked as a financial controller, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Business Officer, and CPA until he retired in 2009.
In 1973 he married Marcia Lowther in Lawrence, KS. They had three children and later divorced.
Always passionate about music, Les was a member of the choir at the Church of the Resurrection.
He is survived by his children, Michelle Loomis and husband Matt of Humboldt, KS; Christie Williams and husband Justin of Olathe, KS, and Benjamin Longberg and wife Ciara of Nashville, TN, and four grandchildren: Joel, Jacob and Catherine Williams and Maegan Loomis. Also his sister, Kay Canning and husband Lynn and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2PM at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel.
