Leroy Donovan

LeRoy Donovan, loving husband and father, passed away on Aug. 30, 2013. Born Oct. 8, 1920 to Dena and Leo Donovan of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Gene is survived by Veda, his wife of 67 years; daughter Martha; sons Tom and Terry of Olathe and Tim (Tammy) Eudora, KS, as well as several grandchildren. Gene is a distinguished Air Force veteran of WW II where he served as a member of the 870th Bombardier Squadron, 497th Bomb Group, 73rd Wing in radio operations and navigation aboard the B29 Flying Fortress. He later became employed by the Federal Aviation Administration and spent 34 years in Air Traffic Control and Management. Gene retired from the FAA in 1977, earned a degree in Business Administration and enjoyed a 2nd career in Real Estate.
