LEONARD EMERSON EASTLAND
Age 87, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006 at his home in Olathe, KS. The family suggests remembrances to the Stanley Bible Church or to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67211.


Leonard was born July 20, 1918 in Kenneth, Kansas to G.A. and Edith Eastland. He graduated from Stanley Rural High School in 1935,and served our country in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. Upon returning from the service, he began dairy farming in the Stanley area and continued farming over the past 60 years.
He was a member of the Stanley Community Church, the Stanley Grange, a County Committeeman for the A.S.C. Office, and was also a school board member of the Consolidated School District #229. Leonard enjoyed vegetable gardening, starting most of his plants from seeds.
He is survived by his children, Lola Jean Abbott and her husband Gary of Stanley, KS, and his son Leonard (Bud) Eastland and his wife Teresa of Olathe, KS, grandchildren Gina (Joe) Clabough, Ryan Randall, Shanna (Dan) Palecki, Tim Abbott, and Jason and Lindsay Eastland, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evalora, in 2004, and his brother John in 2005.
