Leopal "Lee" Fremont Day, 92, of Overland Park, passed away on March 24, 2019 at Olathe Hospice House.
He was born on July 7, 1926 to "Fremont" and Bessie (Secrest) Day in Paragon, Indiana. He had seven brothers and sisters.
Lee worked as a Hearing Examiner for the United States Department of Justice, Parole Commission for 15 years, for the State of Indiana Department of Corrections for well over 25 years, and was a Southern Baptist minister for 28 years.
On August 11, 1947, he married Frances Autumn Hopwood. Lee and Fran made their homes in Indiana, California and Kansas over the course of his life.
He was a member of a number of organizations within the field of Corrections.
Lee is survived by his loving wife, Fran, his three daughters, Candy, Julie and Vicki, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even one great-great-grandchild, all of whom he loved dearly.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 12:30pm at The Branches Church in Olathe, Kansas.
