Leah J. Eddlemon, 98, Olathe, KS, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Royal Terrace Care Center in Olathe. The family suggest contributions to the First Baptist Church of Olathe, 2024 E. 151st, Olathe, Kansas 66062.
Leah was born March 19, 1909 in Amsterdam, MO to Fred M. and Cora Edith (Dye) Carman. She lived in Colorado eight years. Leah was educated in El Dorado Springs, MO, and taught school in Clintonville, MO.
Leah married John C. Eddlemon May 16, 1928. She was a hommaker until the family moved to Huchinson, KS in 1944. She worked for Markle Tent & Awning Co. in Hutchinson. The family then moved to Olathe in 1950. Leah worked for Hallmark Cards in Province Village.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Olathe since 1970. She was a very active member until 1996 when she entered a Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Eddlemon; daughter, Bonnie Kirkpatrick; two grandchildren, Michael and Dennis Kirkpatrick; and son-in-law, Archie Kirkpatrick.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Dale) Boydston of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Jim (Nancy) Boydston of Waco, TX, Joyce (Paul) Sheehan of Lenexa, KS, Kathy (Gilbert) Rudder of Fontana, KS, Christa (John) Kelsey of Independence, MO; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand daughter.
