Laverne D. Skeens, 77, of Kansas City, MO (Formerly of Belton, MO) passed away Thurs. March 8, 2012 at the Timberlake Care Center. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Grace Hospice or Timberlake Care Center.
Dee was born December 10, 1934 in Osawatomie, KS to Laverne and Roberta Weaver. Dee was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Dee enjoyed working at the VFW in Belton where she put many smiles on people's faces. She loved being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Dee spent much of her time taking care of others and in the end she was taken care of by many great staff members at Timberlake Care Center and Grace Hospice. She was preceded in death by James Skeens, son and Kathryn Skeens, daughter-in-law. She is survived by her children, Donna Zimmerman, Bill Skeens, and Diane Skeens, grandchildren, Becky, Jenny, Carrie, and Justin Zimmerman, Hope Skeens, Kristina Guarino, Matthew Skeens, and Billy Skeens.
