Laurie Ann Sevedge Beane, 42, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on July 30, 2016 at Olathe Hospice House.
Laurie was born on January 24, 1974 to James and Sue Sevedge in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Park Hill High School in 1992. Laurie was a life-long learner pursuing education at Northwest Missouri State University, Johnson County Community College, and Fort Hayes State University. She received her bachelor's degree and continued her education with a master's program, both in organizational leadership.
On September 15, 2002, Laurie married Patrick Beane and resided in Olathe, Kansas. Laurie was overjoyed to welcome their first son, Jarett Alan, on September 15, 2004. She proudly became a mom of boys twice over on November 28, 2011 with the arrival of Callum James. Laurie was a devoted mother committed to making each son feel special with birthday pancakes and celebrations, cooking together, trips and outings, and creative crafts and activities.
Laurie began to talk soon after birth and never stopped. She never met a stranger and gave generously of her time to others by volunteering for her son's school, Boy Scouts, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Heart of America Humane Society.
Laurie loved to dance from the age of 4 through high school. At the age of 15, her dancing talent led to her first job at Worlds of Fun as the dancing panda character. She then pursued her passion in Information Technology including advancement to a Vice President at Hypervine and later as a Technical Project Manager at Convergys.
Laurie loved Kansas City. At the top of the list was her Chiefs with her Royals as a close second. She also loved to travel with a special appreciation for Norway despite her strong distaste for the cold.
Laurie is survived by her husband of nearly 14 years, Patrick Beane, sons Jarett (11) and Callum (4), mother Sue Sevedge, father Jim (Tracie) Sevedge, sister Kim Sevedge, and numerous other family and friends who loved her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, in Olathe, Kansas with visitation with the family to follow the service from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
While Laurie enjoyed flowers, she would welcome donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her name.
