Laura Marie Collins, age 37, of Olathe, passed away on March 28, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 28, 1977 to Sidney and Catherine (Chrisman) Collins at Ottumwa, IA. She was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Emporia State University and received her degree in Bachelor of Arts in English, and went on to earn her Masters Degree in Library Science, also from Emporia State University. Laura enjoyed many years of service as a library volunteer.
She was employed as a Production Editor for Penton Business Media, Inc.
She was a member of Circle K (College), Olathe Sunrise Kiwanis ( her contribution was the creation of the organizations website) and the Kiwanis Club of Shawnee, KS. In her leisure, Laura enjoyed traveling to the Carribean, Paris, Sanibel Island, and all throughout the United States.
Laura is survived by her loving parents, Sidney and Catherine Collins, her sister, Lisa Collins, and a loving extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one uncle.
