Larry Allen Williamson, age 82, died May 9, 2021 at Sunrise Senior Living in Overland Park, Kansas. Born November 24, 1938 in Hartford, Kansas, Larry was the son of Harvey H. and LaVerne (Hamman) Williamson. Larry grew up on the farm near Strawn, Kansas, He attended the Stone Rural School and graduated from Burlington High School in 1957. Larry was an excellent athlete and particularly enjoyed participating in basketball and track. Larry married Gloria Joyce Garrett on June 4, 1960 in Burlington, Kansas. Four children were born to their family, Cheri Rogers (Fred), Alan Eric, Mark Lane and Laura Lewis. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald and infant son Alan Eric. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Sunrise, a sister Barbara Boren of Wichita, Kansas, his three children, 6 grandchildren: Amanda Walker (Steven), Jared Rogers (Nicole), Byron Williamson, Wyatt Williamson, Brianna Black (Jonathan) and Jacob Mensah, 1 great-grandchild: Elijah James Rogers, and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. Larry and Gloria started married life in Hartford, KS. They soon moved to Topeka and then on to Barrington. They then made their home in Olathe, KS for 16 years, where Larry started Waterway Gutter. Over the years he hired many church members and taught them the trade. In 1993 Larry and Gloria bought property in Spring Hill, KS. where he lived until 2018. Larry had worked his whole life to get back to the farm and have animals again. Growing up on a farm, that was always a love of his. He raised angus cattle and enjoyed riding horses with this family. Larry was a member of the Church of God since 1962. He was ordained a Deacon in 1986. He enjoyed working with the church youth, coaching basketball and track during the 70s, 80s and 90s.
