LARRY RONALD RUPP
Larry Ronald Rupp, age 68, went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2010. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be on Monday, February 22, at 9:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd, Olathe, followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 10 a.m., and funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Kansas City Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
Larry was born March 13, 1941, in Council Grove, Kan., and attended St. Ann's Catholic School in Kansas City, Kan., and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960. He served our country in the U.S. Navy, and served on the USS Forrestal. He married Barbara Deloughery, and together they made their home in Shawnee and then Olathe. Larry retired from Western Electric / AT&T after 30 years of service, then retired from Sprint after eight serving years.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; his children Ron (JoAnn) Rupp of Chicago, Ill., Susan Christine Gunya of Eudora, Kan., and Phyllis (Jack) Smith of Kansas City, Kan.; his grandchildren Cindy, Brittney, Callie, Tony, Desiree and Dannielle, Sean and Brittany, and great-grandchildren Orion and Lyllith. He is also survived by his brother Wayne and sister Judy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Elisabeth Ricci, grandson Nathan Dyer, and son-in-law Steve Gunya.
