Larry Lee Moidl

Lawrence "Larry" Lee Moidl passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the age of 78, in Olathe, KS. Although he dealt with some medical issues in recent years, he was always positive and engaging with his children and grandchildren until the end.

He was born on December 26, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas to Joe and Charlotte (Mamle) Moidl. He grew up in Kansas City and after graduating from Ward High School, he served honorably in the Vietnam War. Later, he met his wife Pat and they were married for 44 years. Together, they had four wonderful daughters: Amy, Kim, Angela, and Rebecca (Becky).

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Pat Moidl, his daughters Amy Wiese (Bryan), Kim Kirby (Jon), Angela Herbison (Clay), and Becky Speed (Alex), his grandchildren Ethan and Elijah Kirby, Owen, Ben, and William Wiese, and Quinn and Lily Herbison, and his step children Christine and David Swanson. He is also survived by his sisters Cookie, Kathy, Mary Ann, and Jeannie.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Bill, and sister Charlene.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 9:00-10:00am on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:00am and burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
