Larry W. Brummitt

Larry Brummitt, 69, of Shawnee, passed away on December 11, 2018. He was born on April 6, 1949 to Orval and Elaine (Pigg) Brummitt in Unionville, MO.

Larry grew up in Green City, MO. After graduating Green City H.S. in 1967 he moved to Topeka. There he met Barbara J. Loether. They married in 1973.

Larry worked 23 years with KPL/Westar Energy. In 1996, he started working with his son Travis in the family lawn & landscape business.

Larry developed many friendships over the years. Many of those were formed on the ball field as he coached his children on teams in De Soto. He also was a daily coffee customer at Old 56 Restaurant in Olathe.

Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara; Children, Travis (Melissa) Brummitt, Lenexa, Heather (Cortney) Kellenaers. Maricopa, AZ; Grandchildren, Kayleigh, Addysin & Nash Brummit and Teague & Wren Kellenaers; Sister, Linda Howard, Topeka; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 1-2pm on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel, the memorial service will follow at 2pm.
