Lana Lea Szczygiel

Lana Lea (Lane) Szczygiel, 76, of Olathe, KS departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 18, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Lana was born November 4, 1946, in Lenora, KS to JC and Velda Lane. She had two older brothers Norman and Alvin Lane. She grew up in Lenora and Wichita, KS. Her parents ran a wheat harvesting operation from Texas to South Dakota. She was the 1963 Homecoming Queen for Wichita South High School and was a 1964 graduate.
Her first child Bobbi Sue was born in 1966, then came Jeff in 1968 and Darin in 1974.
She married the love of her life Steve Szczygiel in 1986. They enjoyed 37 years of marriage. Lana loved the holidays and celebrating everyone's birthday. The grandkids especially loved coming over for her homemade mac and cheese.
She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and wife and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents JC and Velda Lane and her daughter Bobbi Sue Roberts.
Lana is survived by her husband Steve Szczygiel and the family pet Lucy of the home, son Jeff Warczakoski and wife Dana, son Darin Warczakoski, son-in-law Kevin Roberts and grandchildren: Haley, Lane, Abby, Beau, Jack, Kylea, Luke and great-granddaughter Coraline who were all the highlights of her life.
We all rest easy today knowing that Lana is sitting at God's table with her parents and her daughter Bobbi Sue that she has missed so
dearly.
