Kirk Hickman

Kirk Hickman, age 64, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on March 14, 2024 surrounded by family and friends, following a heroic fight with cancer. He was born on December 19, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa to Elmer and Charlotte (Butler) Hickman. Kirk was a District Sales Manager for National Beverage Corporation until he retired in 2021.

He married Patricia (Payne) Hickman on August 24, 1979, the marriage of a lifetime; for almost 45 years. He was a beloved dad to Megan (Hickman) O'Malley and a wonderful son-in-law that he was so proud of, Thomas O'Malley. He was the most amazing Grandpa to his long-awaited grandson, Cylis, who he cherished. He is survived in death by his loving wife Patty, his daughter Megan (Thomas), his mother, Charlotte, two sisters Frankie Doles, Kathy Naylor (John Naylor) and brother Kreg Hickman (Suzi Hickman), all of his nieces and nephews as well as his wife's sisters and their husbands, Ronnie and Tammy Rogers and John and Lisa Davis. He was preceded in death by his father Elmer, and his two sisters, Vicki and Kristy.

Kirk loved spending time with his wife. They were inseparable. He enjoyed going to Grand Lake in the summer and being out on the boat with his family and best friends. Kirk and Patty loved to participate in bowling leagues. Kirk's absolute favorite past time was watching his Kansas City Chiefs play football on Sundays.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at 1:00PM on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Fronteras Mexican Restaurant 175 N Moonlight Rd. Gardner, KS 66030

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to The University of Kansas Cancer Center or American Cancer Association.
