September 5, 1958 — March 11, 2017

Kirk was born on September 5th, 1958 in Spencer IA, the 4th child of Lowell & Mary (Ruhberg) Henry. The family lived in Sioux Rapids, IA until they moved to Estherville, IA when Kirk was 7. He graduated from Estherville High School where he was active in sports including football, basketball, and track. Kirk also was an avid hunter and loved to go pheasant, duck, & goose hunting with friends.




Kirk graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. After college, Kirk moved to Dallas, TX and worked for Cable & Connector Warehouse (CCW). During this time he met and married Amy Sherrill. The couple moved to the Kansas City area where Kirk opened and managed a new office for CCW.

Kirk and Amy have two children: son Jared Henry & wife Carly of Denver, CO, and daughter Karsyn Henry of Olathe KS.




A faithful Iowa Hawkeye fan to the extreme, Kirk loved watching & going to Iowa football games. He also enjoyed many summer vacations at the family lake house on Lake Okoboji.




Kirk is survived by two siblings: brother, Mark Henry & Wife Paula of Okoboji, IA and sister Beth Hutchinson & husband Pete of Plano, TX, nieces, nephews, and his stepmother Lenore Henry of Wheatridge, CO. He is preceded in death by his wife Amy, his father & mother, & his brother Brian.
