Kevin Thomas Boland

Kevin Boland, 55, Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations given to the Arthritis Foundation.


Kevin Boland was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania on August 30, 1955, and was the son of Joseph and Rita Boland. He is survived by his wife Carol (married 12/25/1980), daughter Misti Osbern and son-in-law Jeremy Osbern of Lawrence, Kansas, daughter Jenn Boland of Chicago, Illinois, daughter Sarah Bartkoski and son-in-law Chris Bartkoski and their children Alexis, Joseph, Collin of Olathe, Kansas. Other family members include brother Michael Boland and wife Julie Boland, sister Diane Schlizter and husband John Schlizter, sister Rita Hiltner and husband Barry Hiltner, and nieces Debra Hiltner, Mary Beth Schlizter, Melissa Schlizter, and Amie Schlizter, as well as a large and loving extended family. Kevin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.


He attended Elementary School at St. Helena's School in Centre Square, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pennsylvania. He received his Associates Degree in Engineering from Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, and his Masters of Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.



Kevin worked as an Engineer IV and Technology Architect at CenturyLink. He had worked in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years. He also developed several technologies that received worldwide patents.



He has lived with his family in Olathe, KS since 1996, and had previously lived in Riverton, Wyoming, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Madison, Wisconsin, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Bath, Pennsylvania, and Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. He was patient, loving, and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and spending time with his friends and family.
