Kerry Alan "Butch" Miller passed away on August 22nd, 2022, at home in Olathe, Kansas.
He was born December 26th, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana. Butch made Kansas City his home after moving at the age of 9. Growing up, his summers were full of baseball, with his dad coaching and mom and sisters cheering him on. Upon graduation from Ruskin High School, Butch attended Central Missouri State University and was a member of the Armed Services, serving in Vietnam.
With the charisma, kindness, and twinkle in his eyes we all came to love, Butch had a successful career in sales at Jack Henry's Clothing, where he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed a second career as a supervisor at United Manufacturing, of course making another group of great friends. Following in his father's footsteps, Butch coached his kids in many sports through the years with his wife, family and friends cheering along and spent recent years backyard coaching his beloved grandsons.
Butch is survived by his wife Kim Miller, his son Sam Miller (Lyndsey), daughter Molly Miller Broswick (Craig), sisters Jill Miller Spencer and Judy Miller Petrie; godsons and nephews Cooper Murray and Gunnar Murray; grandsons Ryan Miller and Colton Miller, many loving nieces and nephews, his constant companion Henry, and a gaggle of cats.
Known as "Uncle Boo" to nieces and "Pops" to his grandsons, he was adored by all those who had the privilege to know him, to be coached by him, to be friended by him, to love him. A kinder guy you could not meet.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 28th, 12:00pm - 3:00pm at Austin's Bar & Grill, 2103 East 151st, Olathe, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Butch's name to the Shadow Buddies Foundation, 14700 Street, Suite 100, Lenexa, KS 66215 or online at shadowbuddies.org.
