Kenneth R. Grove, 54, of Olathe, Kan., passed away on March 23, 2010, after a short illness. A memorial will be held March 26 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lucinda D. Grove of Olathe. Other survivors include his mother, Thelma (Grove) Dixon and his siblings: William V. Grove of Saxton, Pa., James R. Grove and his wife Kay of Martinsburg, Pa., Michael R. Grove of Saxton, Pa. and Beth (Grove) Isett and her husband Greg Isett of State College, Pa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Grove was born May 3, 1955, the son of the late WilliamVaughn Grove and Thelma (Hainsey)Grove. He attended Tussey Mountain High School graduating in 1973. Subsequently, he attended the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology in 1977. He later attained Teach Certification from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa. In 1998 he completed a Juris Doctorate from the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Branch of Widener University of Law.
Mr. Grove worked as a Manager of the Rax Roast Beef and Dutch Pantry in Carlisle, Pa., a Supervisor for Handy Markets, Inc., in Camp Hill, Pa. and a Substitute Teacher in the Camp Hill, Shippensburg, Carlisle and Newville school districts. In later years he was self employed as a tax consultant.
