As Kenda's Journey on Earth neared its completion a common exclamation was made by her friends and family.
"One day, we will see her again in Heaven. Because Lord knows, if she doesn't make it in, good luck to the rest of us".
Kenda Anne Worsfold, a woman grounded in her faith, peacefully joined her savior the evening of November 13, 2021. Age 60.
Kenda's story began on April 10th, 1961.
Early in life it was evident that she had the ability to accomplish great things. Her musical prowess was often on display as she played piano for hours in her family's living room. This musical talent secured her a scholarship to the University of Missouri - Columbia where she obtained her first degree, a B.A. in Musical Education. After which her talents could be witnessed regularly in St. Louis during her employment at the esteemed Saint Louis Symphony.
In 1986, Kenda's trajectory of life took a change when she applied and was accepted to the State University of New York, Geneseo where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a M.S. in Molecular Cell Biology and B.S. in Cell Biology. She had a storied career as a Research Associate and Medical Writer, where she hit the pinnacle of her career when she had the honor of writing for the United States Covid-19 medical vaccine trials.
Kenda's passion and love of music did not end when she started her medical career. Rather, she dedicated more time to her Church. She partook and led numerous Church choirs, youth choirs, mission trips, and (her soft spot) children's ministry events. Kenda became employed by the church to provide Congregational Care; she was steadfast in her faith and the embodiment of grace.
The same grace and devotion that she displayed for her faith, carried over to her family and friends. Kenda was a devoted wife to two brilliant husbands, Mark O Marcucci and AJ Worsfold, both of whom preceded her in death, and a much-loved mother to Lauren Grace Marcucci-Gravino (Raphael).
She leaves behind her sister, Sherri (Mark) Russell, her brother Kyle (Michelle) Wilson, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Riley Wilson.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 10:30-11:30 am on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Heritage United Methodist Church in Overland Park. Service to take place at 11:30 with lunch to follow. The funeral service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking

"We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
2 Corinthians 5:8
