Kelly Green

Kelly B. Green, 53, of Olathe, KS, passed away at Olathe Medical Center on September 11, 2012 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Kelly was born September 12, 1958 in Leoti, KS to Warren and Emmeline Green who have preceded him in death.

He graduated from Wichita County High School in 1976. In 1980, Kelly graduated from Kansas State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. On September 8, 1984, he married Julie Depew and they were blessed with two sons.

Kelly partnered with his father in a land excavating business in western Kansas until his father's death. He re-located to Olathe where he enjoyed a successful career with Forgy Process Instruments. He considered his most important assignment in life that of being a wonderful husband and father and he most enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an enthusiastic supporter of his son's sporting events, an avid K-State sports fan, and passed on his love of history to his sons.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, and sons Evan and Brett, of the home; sisters Kim Freeman (Andrew) of Shawnee, OK, Courtney Kleager (Lynn) of Glenwood Springs, CO; nieces Hadley and Kinsey Freeman, Ashley and Courtney Birk; nephews Linc and Holden Kleager, sister-in-law Debbie Birk( Dan) and father and mother -in-law Lynn and Beth Depew.

Memorials are suggested to the Olathe East Track and Field Team or the Olathe East Wrestling Team, 14545 W 127th, Olathe,KS 66062.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd, Olathe, KS followed by a funeral service on Monday, September 17 at 11:00 am at St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church, 67th and Nall, Mission, KS. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley, KS.
