Keith William Anderson died peacefully November 26, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 16 at 2 pm at Second Presbyterian Church, 55th and Oak, KCMO. A reception will follow.
Keith was born July 1, 1958 in Kansas City, MO to James Wesley and Wilma Rae Anderson. Keith graduated from Center High School in 1975. He was a yell leader, active in drama and choir and a member of 87th Street Gang. Keith graduated in 1980 from Westminster College, Fulton, MO with degrees in business and English. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Keith worked as an Admissions Counselor for Westminster College in 1981. In 1982, he moved to St. Louis, MO, as a Travel Director for Maritz. Keith returned to Kansas City in 1983 to work for the Electric Association. In 1986, Keith worked for the National Assn. of Plastics Distributors as Director of Membership Services. That year, he met Leslie, the love of his life, at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. They married at Second Presbyterian Church in 1987. In 1989, Keith joined the Business Technology Association. In 1994, he became the Executive Director of BTA and received his MBA from Baker University. In 1997, Keith joined Baader/Johnson as the Marketing Manager. From 2005 to 2016, Keith was the Executive Director of Gift of Life.
Keith devoted his personal time to serving on the boards of Hope Care Center, Unicorn Theatre, Friends of Arrow Rock and Second Presbyterian Church. Keith developed his artistic talent in paper making after experimentation and studying under local artist, Jean VanHarlingen. Keith exhibited his "pulp paintings" in local and regional art shows for 10 years.
Keith is survived by his wife, Leslie; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Jeanne; nephew Graham; and nephew and family Steven, Erin and infant Lilly Ray.
