Kathy (Fehrle) Waller, 64, of Spring Hill, KS passed Sat. Sept 30, 2017.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff of Spring Hill, a daughter Kerry (Ben) of Waukonda, Illinois, a son, Alexander (Lindsay) of Olathe, Kansas and her mother Mary Lou Burke, sister Julie (Alan) and brother Richard (Regan), all of Creston, Iowa. She had 5 grandchildren; Ava, Soren, Elijah, Galileo, and Marina and five nieces and one nephew. Her father, Herman Fehrle, preceded her in death.
Kathy graduated from Creston (Iowa) High School in 1971, attended Southwestern Community College and received a Bachelor of Elementary Education (1975) and Master of Curriculum and Instruction (1981) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating with highest honors. She taught first grade in Creston, Iowa and second and third grades in Olathe for 25 years and was selected as Ridgeview Elementary Teacher of the Year three times during her tenure.
She and her Labrador Retriever Maxine, will also be remembered for initiating the pet therapy programs at Olathe Medical Center and Kids TLC. They visited many patients and staff at both facilities for more than 6 years and made many people smile. Kathy was a founding member of Saint Andrew Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was a past moderator of the congregation.
Jeff and Kathy were married for 43 years.
