Kathryn "Betty" Elizabeth Rossman , 83, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on July 15, 2013.
Kathryn "Betty" was born on October 6, 1929, Kansas City, Missouri to Theodore "Ted" and Fern (Phillips) Crawford. She was married to Richard Rossman on August 29, 1953 in Paola, KS. Betty began her teaching career in Paola, KS then taught for two years in Topeka, KS, eventually settling in the Olathe area teaching at Washington Elementary, Ridgeview Elementary, and Westview Elementary before retiring.
Prior to her illness, she was an active member of Gamma Phi Beta; Chapter HL P.E.O., Olathe Junior Service League (a founding patroness); the Olathe DAR and the Olathe Culture Club. Betty and her husband, Dick, were life-long KU Jayhawk Fans, and enjoyed both KU basketball and football.
Kathryn "Betty" is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) Rossman, daughter, Ann (Bill) McCort, grandchildren Maren, Ashley, and Marc McCort, sister-in-law Brunhilda Rossman, and one niece and five nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Children's Mercy Hospital or Lakemary Center of Paola.
