Kathleen "Kathy" Elizabeth Green, 79, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at her home with her loving husband at her side. She was born on July 2, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert and Ruth (Argenbright) Irving.
Kathy relocated with her parents to the Kansas City area where she attended and graduated from Bishop Miege High School. It was there that she met the love of her life James Joseph Green whom she married on December 29, 1962 beginning their loving and faith-filled life. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Avila University and worked at St Mary's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri until devoting her life to her true passion, proudest accomplishment, and center of joy - raising a loving family with Jim.
Kathy will be remembered for her strong faith and devotion to family and friends, her gift of storytelling and sense of humor, her love of holidays and traditions, as well as the steadfast loyalty, kindness, and patience she showed to family, friends, and all she encountered.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jim Green; her children Judy Shahan (Jackie), Amy Krull (Shane), Meg Rock (Tony), Jennifer Thomas (Danny), Jay Green (Denise), Michelle Green (Theodis), and Philip Green (Megan); her grandchildren Joseph, Benjamin, Brigitte, Cullen, Emily, Hannah, Noah, Madison, Abby, Katie, Gunnar, Gabby, Kaylin, Megan, Alex, Jackson, Brooklyn, Avery, Alexa, Bella, and grandbaby number 21 arriving in June of this year; and her great grandchildren Jeremiah, Charlee, and Ava; her sister Ann Smith (Gary); and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends that loved her.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, followed by burial in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Facebook Live and can be viewed by copying and pasting the following URL address into your browser https://www.facebook.com/events/418334359273100/
