Kathleen Ann Gharst, 65, passed away on June 3, 2015. Kathy was born September 21, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas and was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian (Harris) and Ralph Mitchell and her brother Michael Mitchell.
Kathy was focused on God and family. Through Brian she became a grandmother and delighted in the relationship she had with her grandchildren. In Eric she had a best friend and confidant. Because of Amy and Melissa she was able to see the world. She prayed tirelessly for her family, gave endlessly to others without hesitation, was a fountain of joy and the epitome of love. She was steadfast, faithful and perfect in heart and soul. Her joy was like a road sign on the pathway of others' lives; she had it in great measure and gave it freely. The world will feel the impact of her passing.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jack, two sons, Brian and wife Missy of Paola, KS, Eric and fiancée Cheryl of Olathe, KS, two daughters, Amy Gharst and Melissa Gharst of Portland, OR, the light of her life, her grandchildren, Owen, Ezra, Oliver and Kirie Gharst, brother Robert Mitchell and sister Rose Mitchell Milburn.
The visitation service will be held on Friday, June 5th from 6-8pm at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, 14275 Blackbob Rd. in Olathe, and funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9am at Penwell-Gabel. Burial will follow at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, 738 N Chestnut St.
Flowers for mom are welcome.
